It has taken him longer than he said it would, but President Donald Trump He is starting to check off his list of campaign promises, and most voters are giving him credit for keeping his word.
Deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller , the keeper of Trump's list, said that the president has clicked through many of his 20 key promises in just five months and is working to secure all of them with the help of the recently passed Big Beautiful Bill Act.
"No president in all of American history has done more to fulfill his campaign promises in such a short time," he recently posted on X.
Most voters agree.
In a new Cygnal survey Shared with Secrets on Wednesday, half of voters said that Trump makes good on campaign promises "better than most politicians." And a significant 38% said that he does so "much better than most."
Take a look at the 20 campaign pledges President Trump made in the 2024 GOP platform. No President in all of American History has done more to fulfill his campaign vows in so short a time. And notice how the just-passed BBB delivers on and codifies these exact promises. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/fhXET3D0Ne
— Stephen Miller (@StephenM) July 6, 2025But more importantly for Trump politically, voters new to Trump and MAGA are really impressed.
"Among Trump switchers and newcomers (those who did not vote for Trump in 2020 but did in 2024), 78% say he keeps promises better than most," said the survey analysis. And swing voters agree by a 2-to-1 margin, said Cygnal.
"Fictional Frank Underwood once said that promises are immune to changing circumstances. Donald Trump is the only president in recent memory who not only understands this but also uses it as the driving force behind his agenda," said pollster and Cygnal President, Brent Buchanan.
"Trump was able to not only attract first-time voters in 2024 but also convert some would-be Harris voters. When you look at this data, there's little question that among his most attractive qualities is voters' belief that he keeps his campaign promises and cares little about what the D.C. establishment thinks about enacting his agenda. For Trump, it really is all about the voters and proving he'll do what he set out to," he added.
"That's the most important thing voters want from the people they send to D.C., but it's usually the first thing elected officials break. For all the talk about Trump's antics, voters see that Trump has a record of promises checked off his list, and he's showing zero signs of slowing down," said the pollster.
Voters are split on ICE raids - 50% support, 48% oppose. Independents oppose by 12 points, as Republicans strongly support and Democrats hate it.
HOWEVER, 40% of Hispanics support ICE raids. https://t.co/919iMRPsOd
— Brent Buchanan, Pollster (@brentbuc) July 8, 2025His promise to close the border is among the top issues that Trump gets credit for, likely because he has stopped all border incursions.
On that issue, Cygnal said that over 70% of voters are on Trump's side and believe individuals entering the United States without legal permission have broken the law.
Moreover, 60% support deporting those border crossers, and the analysis added, "Hispanic voters are now 11 points more likely to support deportation than two months ago."

But he has a problem with how those targeted for deportation are being rounded up, especially among the so-called "Karens" of the nation, white women.
"Who are the voters most upset about the recent ICE raids? While voters are split overall, it's mostly women - specifically, older women moved from +32 net on generic deportation to net-even while non-college educated women moved from +26 net to net-even," said Cygnal.
