ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A pedestrian was struck and several others, including children, were injured during Dunwoody's Fourth of July parade following an incident involving a driver, according to the Dunwoody Police Department.

Police said that during the parade, a truck carrying a trailer struck a pedestrian when the driver stopped to switch places with another driver.

“During the switch, the new driver mistakenly hit the accelerator, which caused the vehicle to lunge forward. The vehicle struck a pedestrian, knocking her to the ground,” Dunwoody police said.

Rapper Lil Woody arrested in Atlanta, charged with drag racing

Rapper Lil Woody — who was at one point a star witness in the historic YSL trial in Atlanta — was arrested Thursday on an illegal drag racing charge.

The 33-year-old, whose real name is Kenneth Copeland, was charged with actively facilitating an exhibition of illegal drag racing or laying drags.

The incident happened on June 22, according to an arrest warrant.

The Atlanta Braves open a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday, marking the eighth regular season game broadcast live on Gray Media in 2025.
